It will be a great time for relaxation and to start studying for finals. The only down side is that I am so excited about Thanksgiving that I don't want to do any of my work.... I am just so tired lol!

While I am excited about Thanksgiving break, I still can't believe how fast the semester has flown! It doesn't seem like I am almost through with my first semester in college! It really has flown by in the wink of an eye!

On another note, I am writing this writer's choice paper.... and I have some really great details for this paper, but I am not sure where I want it to add up. There is room to play around with that it can be intimadating, because I don't know EXACTLY what they are looking for, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing.

Blog 8

Mk, so i couldnt think of anything creative to name my blog lol. This week has been slightly less strenous than the past. I did not have near as much stuff due, it was actually quiet peaceful. I caught up on sleep, woke up at 445 to do my schedule, which turned out to work out pretty well, at least, for the most part. We had a swap on wednesday with ALL the tribes. we ran around playing capture the flag, which was super fun! I am excited that Thanksgiving break is coming up, it will be a nice time to relax and catch up with some old friends!

From Baby Elephant to Beautiful Active

The month of October has been so busy! Classes, Midterms, Football games, and not to mention RUSH! Follies practice every night and a few surprise sisterhoods, October seemed like two years rather than 30 days. Even though it was SUPER busy, I enjoyed the majority of it. I gained so much from the plege process, especially during Elephant Court. I learned to trust my sisters to a new level, and gained a new respect for each girl in KT.

Well, today is the day! This afternoon I will be pinned and offically become a KT active! I am so excited about finishing the pledge process. I will finally be able to relax a little. Even though I am glad its over, I am glad I stuck through the process. I have gained so many close relationships, and our sisterhood has really grown stronger since the beginning of this month. It has truly been an amazing experince!

Follies, Homecoming, KT

WOW! I cant believe Follies is over! I have no clue what to do untill midnight now lol! maybe now I can catch up on homework! Follies was amazing! I had so much fun getting to know my fellow baby elephants! We were AWESOME! I truly enjoyed working on Follies! Even though things were frustrating at times, it was still a great experience!

Homecoming was also very fun! working on our pink float till early morning, marching in the parade, and freezing my arms off at the game were all very fun memories! The tailgate was super fun, especially when some of the KT girls and other random people began a game of throwing the huge "koogle (sp?)" around, especially when it would get stuck in a tree!

Being a baby elephant has been an amazing experience! I love each one of my fellow pledges, and our actives are amazing! I have a great KT "family!" It is so much fun being a part of a sisterhood that really cares about each indvidual! Everything seens to be going on at the same time...it can really make a girl go mad! This weekend alone has been enough to send me to a psychiatrist!! I have had to go from band practices to rush to band performances to tailgate to band warmup to football games then back to band performances. Not to meantion the paper due tomorrow, two mid terms, a quiz, OWL, and regular homework. Not to mention my computer crashed this morning and couldnt find a computer to work on till about an hour ago! I almost forgot to do this just because my mind has been everywhere! Hopefully after this week I will be able to recooperate during the fall break.

Rush

Wow! David Parker in a dress was priceless!!

I can't wait till Squeal Night!! That is going to be the most exciting night of rush!! I am so glad that MC was my final college choice! The campus is beautiful and small enough that I don't feel lost. The students here are so welcoming to anyone who walks across the campus. It is not uncommon that someone passing by that I don't even know will greet me and have a small conversation. I personally LOVE my classes, especially biology and chemistry lecture. I feel so intrigued by these classes, and it reassures me that I will stay in my major. I know the classes will become more challenging, but that is fine because I love being challenge in every aspect.

I have also made some REALLY great friends out here, even though it has only been two weeks. I have made such a strong connection with these people already, and even though our college career is just beginning, I know we will stick together to the end. We always hang out, whether it is playing Apples to Apples, Wii, going to the gym, or just dancing to the Backstreet Boys in one of dorms. There is never a time when we are not having fun!

Being a part of the MC band is also a new experience. At Pearl, we had a VERY strict, disciplined band. We had fun, but we had so much to get done that goofing off was put on the back burner. At MC, the band doesnt compete so it is a MUCH more relaxed setting. We are able to do our job, but have more fun because the pressure is lowered significant.

All and all, choosing MC as my college is probably one of the best choices I made for my academic career. The location, academics, and enviorment of MC fits my personality to a "T".
With MC being so close to home, I am able to see my family anytime of week if i choose (espically since it is only 15 minutes away), but I am also able to live on campus and experience a little bit of independence.

All About ME

I am Mindi Ansley. I am from Pearl, Mississippi, which is 15 minutes away from Mississippi College. I graduated from Pearl High School 3rd out of 201. I was involved in Beta Club, National Honor Society, Pirate Connectors, Super Scholars, Mayor' s Youth Council, Mu Alpha Theta, Academic Bowl, and was president of the national Jr. Historical Society and Vice President of the Robotics Team. I was a member of the Award Winning Pearl "Pirate" Band for four years. The band was the probably one of the best choices i have ever made. I have created so many friendships that i still hold dear to me. It taught me discipline and preserverance. It is something i will always hold dear to me. We actually won the 4A State Marching Championships last year :) !! I play the flute and piccolo. I am in the MC Choctaw Band and I love it! I am a Biology major and so I have no life lol! I currently recived a job opportunity with the Army Corp of Engineers and as Lab Technician! I am very excited about this opportunity because it will pave my career path for me!
